GLE Coupé winter testing

Now Mercedes is doing the last winter tests of the GLE Coupé (C292) in the north of Sweden. On the pictures you can see the normal GLE Coupé and the AMG sports model GLE 450 AMG 4matic Coupé.

In the beginning you can choice between three V6-engines and the GLE 63 AMG V8-BiTurbo.

The GLE 350 d (diesel) 4matic delivers 258 hp and 620 NM.  The GLE 400 4matic delivers 333 hp and 480 NM. The first model of the new AMG Sport line is the GLE 450 4matic AMG with the 3.0 liters V6-BiTurbo. It delivers 367 hp and 520 NM at 1.400 rpm.

At this winter test there were also the facelift versions of the ML (which will be renamed in GLE [W166]) and the GL (which will be renamed in GLS [X166]).  They will get the new 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission NAG3. The navigation system will be updated to the newest generation. The safety assistant systems will be improved. You will get Distronic Plus with the stereo camera system with steering assist for traffic jams or the pedestrian detection. New are also the front and rear bumper. The BiXenon Intelligent Light System will be upgraded to a full LED Intelligent Light System.

On the photo with the white ML Facelift (GLE) you can see that Mercedes is also testing the new GLE 500e Plug-In-Hybrid version (look at the e-tank cap at the rear bumper). This powertrain is known from the S 500 Plug-In-Hybrid. It combines a 3.0 liter V6 BiTurbo with 333 hp and 480 NM with a 116 hp and 340 NM. The system output delivers 442 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The GLE 500e (W166) will debut in the end of 2015.
