Mercedes G-Class MY2027 delivery has started

The G-Class with the MY 2027 introduces new features including an aquamint uni exterior color, a fingerprint sensor for user authentication, and two wireless headphones. This updated version is now in production.

 

The G 500 gets an updated 6-cylinder:

The six-cylinder petrol engine (M 256 Evo) offers a more dynamic response and, thanks to increased torque, ensures a more superior driving experience – especially in the partial load range. The nominal torque has increased to 600 Nm; up to 640 Nm is available with overboost. Overboost refers to a temporary increase in torque through higher boost pressure from the exhaust turbocharger to give the G-Class more tractive power in certain driving situations, such as overtaking or accelerating. These improvements are based on a new, more powerful electric auxiliary compressor (10 hp instead of 7 hp), a cylinder head with optimized intake and exhaust ports, and a revised intake camshaft. Furthermore, the combustion processes and exhaust gas aftertreatment have been further refined. Additional insulation measures have also improved the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) characteristics compared to the predecessor engine. The result is a smoother, quieter, and more dynamic driving experience.

 

The G 580 eletric also get a MY2027 update:

The Mercedes-Benz G 580 mit EQ Technologie received a series of subtle yet impactful technical updates for the model year 2027

• Battery & Range: The usable (net) battery capacity has increased marginally from 116 kWh to 117 kWh. This slightly extends the vehicle's WLTP range up to 479 kilometers (previously 473 km).
• Enhanced Charging: The maximum DC fast-charging performance has been boosted to 210 kW (up from 200 kW), allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes. Additionally, a new 22 kW onboard AC charger is now optionally available for significantly faster home and public AC charging.
• Visual & Equipment Changes: The update introduces a fresh exterior color option called "Aqua Mint". Interestingly, the distinctive black-panel front grille design, which previously served as a hallmark for the electric variant, is removed from the updated standard configurations in favor of a more classic look.
• Shared G-Class Updates: Like the combustion-engine models, the electric variant adopts the new biometric fingerprint scanner on the dashboard (replacing the favorites button for fast profile and digital payment authentication) and includes two wireless headphones as part of its equipment updates.
